Executive Team
Sandy Climan, CEO of 3ality Digital, LLC, has over 20 years’ experience in senior executive positions. From media, to (live) entertainment, and the technology sectors, Mr. Climan has crossed the world to gain a broad perspective and a tremendous amount of experience in overseeing all aspects of production, business growth and development, and managing high-profile talent relationships.
In 1987, at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Mr. Climan began fostering major corporate relationships when he led the firm’s corporate representation practice, advising clients such as Sony, Matsushita, Coca-Cola, Seagram, and several Regional Bell Operation Companies. Separately, He also handled such luminary clients as Danny DeVito, Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Kevin Costner, and Michael Mann. In 1995, Mr. Climan took a two-year leave to become the Executive Vice President & President of Worldwide Business Development for Universal Studios™, overseeing corporate international strategy, strategic marketing, and five studio operation divisions.
Prior to joining CAA, Mr. Climan held various positions in the entertainment industry including President of Lion’s Gate Studios, President of Wescom Productions, and Vice President of Production for The David Gerber Company. His career began at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, overseeing pay-television, international theatrical distribution, and later, working in feature film production. Mr. Climan is also an award-winning producer, having produced the critically acclaimed The Aviator, directed by Martin Scorsese. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Steve Schklair, CEO 3ality Digital Systems, has been working at the front edge of new technologies for most of his career. He has left a mark in movies, special effects, and in interactive media. As the founding principal of 3ality Digital Systems (formerly Cobalt Entertainment), Mr. Schklair is currently focused on the development and production of new digital 3D motion picture technologies and the real-time broadcast of 3D programming. He is highly esteemed by an international client list as one of the world’s leading experts in digital and live action 3D and is one of the primary catalysts behind the recent resurgence of 3D in Hollywood films.
Prior to Cobalt, Mr. Schklair was a senior executive at Digital Domain, the special effects studio responsible for films such as Apollo 13, The Fifth Element, Titanic, and Terminator 2:3D. He was creative director for R/Greenberg Associates, and acted as executive producer for computer graphics / interactive media pioneer Robert Abel & Associates.
Mr. Schklair is an Associate Member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) where he serves on the advanced Technology Committee at ASC. He is a frequent speaker on 3D and 3D technologies at seminars and conferences. Mr. Schklair is an alumnus of the Master’s program at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema.
Howard Postley, COO/CTO, 3ality Digital Systems, is a member of 3ality Digital’s lead team, whose responsibilities include facilitating 3D live broadcasts to theaters and homes. He is also responsible for managing the development of the only complete stereoscopic post production tool set in the industry. Mr. Postley also designed and launched the first all digital 3D online post facility at 3ality Digital. Previously the CTO of Synapse Technologies (founded by Robert Abel), Mr. Postley’s varied background includes writing for industry publications and being a member of the SMPTE 3D Standards Committee. He has an installation of the most complex consumer multimedia product developed to date on display at the Library of Congress.
Mr. Postley frequently teaches and lectures on topics related to media and technology at universities. At UCLA, he majored in Computer Science and Graphic Arts. He also completed the entrepreneur’s program at the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH) and has completed relevant coursework at the Harvard Business School.
Gari Ann Douglass, COO/CFO, 3ality Digital, LLC, has been a Certified Public Accountant for over 25 years and has developed an extensive background in entertainment industry management, finance, and operations. Ms. Douglass leads both operational and financial matters for 3ality Digital.
Prior to joining 3ality Digital, Ms. Douglass served as the Chief Financial Officer at Technicolor Entertainment Services. For over fourteen years, she was an executive at Paramount Pictures in positions ranging from Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations in the Home Entertainment division to Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance. Ms. Douglass has worked in a variety of roles for entertainment and consulting firms such as MCA Records and Columbia Pictures, and she began her career as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the entertainment division. Ms. Douglass received her MBA from the University of Southern California.
Angela Wilson Gyetvan, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, has nearly twenty years of experience launching and building companies in multiple industries including digital media, videogames, e-commerce, and consumer products. She has held executive positions with Revver, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Food.com, Electronic Arts, and Broderbund Software. Achievements include building FSH&R's residential business to $100M in annual revenues; architecting Food.com's business and building out its user community to 16 million monthly transactions while raising $80M in funding; launching EA's "EA*Kids" brand to $20M in first-year revenues; and participating in the management team that took Broderbund Software public. Accolades include being named "Guerilla Marketer of the Year" by Brandweek, and she was honored as a women leader in business by the Haas School at UC Berkeley.
Ms. Wilson Gyetvan is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, AFI, and Film Independent. She is active in social media and collaborates on two popular blogs covering digital media ("Digital Spritz") and wine ("Wine Giques"). She occasionally writes on politics and pop culture for several online publications. Ms. Wilson Gyetvan holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
